A Mala Made With Purpose

A mala is more than a piece of jewelry — it is a sacred meditation tool used for mindfulness, prayer, and spiritual practice.

Throughout Buddhist traditions, malas are used by monks and practitioners in Tibet, Nepal, India, and around the world for counting mantras, prayers, and meditation practices. They are often carried during walks around stupas, temples, and monasteries as part of devotional practice.

Traditionally, the 108 beads on the mala are gently moved one by one in a clockwise direction while reciting mantras, helping maintain focus and awareness.

The Guru bead marks the beginning and end of the meditation cycle and is a reminder of gratitude and intention. Used for centuries in Tibet, Nepal, and India, malas represent compassion, wisdom, mindfulness, and spiritual connection.
